Using flowers in your wedding is a fantastic way to add colour, character and impact. They make beautiful venue decorations and can also be taken home by a few guests as mementoes of the day.
Your flowers can be minimal or abundant, it all depends on what style you want and your budget. Even if you don’t like flowers, using foliage alone can also make a striking impact, as venue decoration.
Tip 1: Make sure you meet your florist and discuss your ideas and find out what flowers are in season for your wedding month and what is within your budget. Keep it simple and use one or two types of flowers in your wedding decorations, this often achieves the most sophisticated look.
Tip 2: Don’t limit yourself to only including flowers on the top table or guest’s tables. Flowers can be attached to chairs, placed above door frames, along walkways or even standalone floral displays which can be really striking. They can also be used on the cake table or even to decorate the cake.
Tip 3: If you use flowers at your ceremony, (whether its pew ends or flowers on pedestals) bring them back to the reception to decorate your venue too. For example, pew ends can be brought to the venue and placed at the back of the bridal party’s chairs.
