Best colours for a Winter Wedding

Red and gold colours winter wedding details mood board
Cool temperatures come with fantastic palette options, and winter weddings are no exception. If you’ve decided on a wedding during the Winter months, you have picked a magical time to get married. Here is some wedding inspiration for choosing your Winter wedding colours. Not just the traditional winter wedding shades, there are a variety of other colour combinations to play with.

1. Winter wedding colour palette - red and gold

This colourful palette, brings in the seasons red, however with some extra sparkle.  With a ruby red for the season, but rather than mixing this with green, focus more on the gold colours to warm up the palette. If you want to enhance the luxe feel, add plenty of candles, gorgeous soft table linen and consider using a mixture of materials like velvet ribbons to tie your napkins to add texture and warmth. And as it will be cooler outside why not add a hot chocolate drinks station to keep your guests warm. This striking palette could be used in a stunning country house wedding venue, with wooden exquisite features.

2. Winter wedding colour palette - White and cool blue

This scheme is about using cool colours snowy whites and neutrals, with a hint of pale calming blue for understated elegance, teamed with beautiful linens, glassware a sparkle through the candles and lights.

Layer textured whites with sparkles of silver for a purified finish. It will create a calming and serene effect.

3. Winter Wedding Colour palette - purple and gold

Winter is a season of cosiness, colour and opulence. Think parties and celebrations and why not bring this through in your wedding? This colour palette is bold full of rich deep purples, golds and midnight blue. The deeper hues make this a dramatic look which will work well with some venues and wedding styles.

To balance it all out soften it with gold accents, through your cutlery or candle holders and neutral linens in cream or soft brown and keep the candles a light colour too. While adding velvet napkins in a bold colour to tie everything together. This is also the perfect style to bring in colourful wine glasses in hues or purple, pink or even blue to make your tables stand out.

All of these colour palettes can be used to create an elegant, romantic style. The table would be the focus point to bring this all out, which is where your wedding guests spend most of their time.

These three Winter colour palette ideas should give you some inspiration for the best colours for an Autumn or Winter Wedding and there are many more to consider.
